Hi Gretchen, I hope you are doing well on your vegan diet. I have to turn vegan at least for a while too! I have Leaky Gut, and can not eat sugar. But speaking of sugar, I was wondering if you still had any copies of your first set of baking recipe books from when you owned the Bakery in Chatham? The reason I ask is that I had been hard pressed at the time and was not working steaky before and could not afford it, but now I have a different job which is more steady. The other reason is because the holidays are coming up and so is Halloween, and I would like to present my family and guests with some eye catching swanky high class cakes and baked goods that would look like I bought them! EVen though only me and my brother’s wife would be eating strictly vee. however the rest of the family and friends are like wolves and they want the real deal with all of the sugar spices and everything! Plus I watched many of your old videos on you tube and I like the way you bake and dress up bakery products. and the third reason is that I would really love to “WOW” my guests when I display cakes, pies and the rest!
Just because I am not able to eat sugar and that stuff does not mean that i have to ruin the holidays for my family including my brother and his teen aged boys who eat like pigs, Not that they are sloppy messy un mannered eaters, but only that they eat everything! as we all used to when we were young and I do not want to disappoint!
I am also interested in your vegan books and recipes as well, but I will worry about that probably after the holidays, when I can think straight again! I think you know what I mean, the holidays are always so stressful time and I will introduce my vegan sister in law to your new vegan recipes. I hope you may still have some stock on those older books. If so, I am interested in them all. I may even pick up some baking tools and accessories should you still have those as well?
Thanks Gretchen, you are my go to baking resource and encyclopedia. I have learned a lot from you already. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX Now, if I can only perfect my artisan european style crusty bread loaves, and hard rolls, then I will be a force to be reconed with. as there is no (probably as you know) no good bread in the south! Everything with these “Red Necks” is a biscuit! Im a Jersay boy and Sicilian. so, I have to have my crusty european bread or I will die! LOL.
