When it comes to fall desserts we tend to think of the usual suspects

apples, pumpkins, and sweet potatoes!
however this time let’s paying homage to the most often overlooked fall fruit!
PEARS!

Pears never get the true recognition that they deserve

and with a bit of summer still lingering in the air this combination of blackberries and pears is a perfect match.

Spiced Pear Blackberry Skillet Cake with Earl Grey Oat Crumble and Maple Vanilla Glaze.

Spiced Pear and Blackberry Skillet Cake

Lancaster Cast Iron generously gifted me this cast iron skillet with no coercion or obligation to post a positive review

I absolutely love cooking in cast iron and if you do too be sure to check them out on their website linked above as well as Lancaster Cast Iron on Facebook too!
If you know about cast iron you know you need some strong wrists to manage cooking and baking with it! But let me tell you this pan is so light! I was stunned at how easy it was to work with!

Notes for Success

For the Maple Vanilla Glaze if you do not have Maple Extract you can simply use 1-2 Tbs of maple syrup instead of the plant milk
